Incident at Smart & Final, San Pedro

Time: Approximately 12:00-12:30 PM
Location: Sidewalk outside Smart & Final parking lot, 25th and Western, San Pedro

A 69-year-old long time resident of San Pedro received multiple high force impacts to his head and face that caused severe traumatic brain injuries and skull fractures. This was a result of an apparent confrontation in the Smart & Final parking lot near a Trump merchandise vending booth. The Vendor was identified by the LAPD as the individual to cause the initial injury to the victim. This Vendor was apparently unharmed and remained open to sell his merchandise after the incident for several hours. We are seeking any information that may help us understand what happened in the incident including after the victim was knocked to ground. The victim that was put into a coma fighting for his life is unable to defend himself.
